STILL ALIVE: IDLE
Terms of Service
Operator and agreement
These terms explain the account rules and personal game licence for Still Alive: Idle, developed and operated by Alistair Kerr, trading as The Crooked Corbie, a Scottish sole trader. Contact: support@stillaliveidle.com. Geographic business address: Sawmill Cottage, Philiphaugh, Selkirk, TD7 5LU.
These terms govern your use of the game and our game licence. A purchase through Paddle also has Paddle's buyer terms; Paddle is the payment reseller/Merchant of Record. Our Privacy Policy explains information handling and is not a waiver of privacy rights.
When the planned registration policy launches, Terms acknowledgement will be separate from the 16+ self-declaration. Reading or acknowledging the Privacy Policy is not consent to every use of personal information.
Accounts and eligibility
The intended policy for new permanent registrations and purchases is that you must be at least 16. Enforcement is planned and has not launched. This is an eligibility policy, not a PEGI rating. Provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials and contact us if you suspect unauthorised use. Do not use another person's account or misrepresent the receiving account for a purchase. Use only payment methods you are authorised to use.
When the 16+ registration policy launches, new permanent accounts will require a self-declaration that the person is at least 16. Existing accounts retain access, progress and ownership. Historical anonymous accounts created before the policy takes effect may convert to permanent accounts without re-registering. This exception does not let new accounts bypass the policy or waive purchase eligibility; future anonymous account creation will be restricted at launch. The declaration requirement is not yet active.
Payment requires sign-in and confirmation of the receiving account. Guest play does not establish a paid entitlement. Closed Alpha admission is separate from ownership: owning a licence does not automatically grant testing access where testing is restricted.
Licence and lifetime ownership
Your licence is personal and non-exclusive, and ownership is linked to your verified account. It does not transfer our intellectual property or authorise resale or redistribution of the game. The creator-content permission below allows the specified uses of game content.
A one-time purchase grants a continuing personal licence to Still Alive: Idle. It includes version 1.0, all future updates to the core game and subsequent core-game improvements. There is no recurring subscription charge, and you do not need to repurchase the core game when version 1.0 launches. Separately offered expansions, additional standalone products and future games are not automatically included. We will not reclassify ordinary core-game updates as separate paid expansions to avoid these lifetime commitments. Valid complimentary lifetime ownership has the same core-game access scope.
Playing the hosted game depends on the service being available. Lifetime ownership does not guarantee perpetual server availability, but this does not permit arbitrary withdrawal of purchased content or reduce our contractual obligations or your statutory consumer rights. If we materially change or discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and respect applicable consumer remedies.
Development and conduct
The game is in active development. Features, balancing and compatibility may change; our Early Access Policy explains the environments. Roadmaps are plans, not guaranteed dates or features, except where a specific commitment formed part of your purchase.
Do not compromise accounts or infrastructure, evade access controls, exploit payment or entitlement systems, harass others, or use the service unlawfully. Report significant security or payment problems through support@stillaliveidle.com. You may submit feedback and bug reports; do not include information you are not entitled to share.
We own or license the game's code, artwork, writing and other content. These terms do not prevent uses permitted by law.
Creator and community content
You may create and share gameplay videos, livestreams, screenshots, tutorials, guides, reviews, criticism and community creations featuring Still Alive: Idle. Ordinary content within this permission does not require separate approval. You may monetise it through platform advertising, subscriptions, donations and sponsorships. Honest criticism is welcome and is not restricted by this permission.
This permission covers our game content as used in those creations. It does not authorise redistribution of the game, sale of its source code, unauthorised standalone asset packs, false claims of official endorsement or infringement of third-party rights. You remain responsible for permissions needed for third-party material.
Availability, suspension and closure
We take reasonable care to operate the service and preserve Public player progress, but bugs, maintenance and interruptions can occur. Use supported save functionality and keep your account accessible. We cannot promise recovery from every incident. Test progress is disposable as explained in the Early Access Policy; this does not waive consumer rights or make Public progress disposable.
We may take proportionate action to address serious breaches, fraud or security risks. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a review route; urgent protection may require immediate restriction. Suspension is not an unrestricted right to confiscate purchased access. Ending an account or licence remains subject to consumer and data-protection law.
Purchases and liability
Our Purchases & Refunds Policy explains cancellation and remedies. Nothing here excludes digital-content quality, description or other mandatory consumer rights, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence.
We are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care, subject to applicable law. The game is supplied for personal use. These terms do not impose a blanket 'as is', no-refund or purchase-price liability cap. Nothing here changes statutory rights concerning damage to devices or other digital content.
Changes, law and disputes
Material changes will be communicated appropriately and will not remove accrued rights retrospectively.
Scots law governs our game agreement, subject to mandatory protections available in your country of residence. Consumers retain applicable rights to bring proceedings in their local courts; this is not an exclusive Scottish-court requirement. Paddle's separate purchase contract has its own applicable provisions. Please contact support@stillaliveidle.com first so we can try to resolve an issue.
